A gap-type filter insert consists of ring-ground steel discs stacked on a central pin. The gap width between the discs is determined by means of calibrated spacers.
A stationary gap cleaner runs through each gap. As the liquid flows between the discs, the dirt particles in the liquid are deposited on the insert’s surface. When the filter insert’s handle is turned, dirt particles accumulate on the row of gap cleaners and sink into the sludge collection chamber.
